Software Defined Baseband

Antcor’s Software Defined Baseband product portfolio enables licensees to develop soft modems for WIFI and LTE standards on top of DSP cores. Our software IP is verified according to industry conformance tests and pre-optimized for leading soft-DSP solutions. Besides the maximum flexibility of upgrading to evolving standards without affecting the SoC design, our approach guarantees a fast and reliable path to SoC-baseband integration. We support each integration project through to commercial acceptance in order to minimize our customers’ development cost and time to market. In the end, it will be the caliber and efficiency of the software that will determine the winner.

WIFI (802.11a/b/g/n/ac)

802.11ac technology is an important new development for meeting today’s need for speed and Antcor is the first company to offer an SDR implementation for this emerging standard. 802.11b/g/a/n SDR implementations complement our WIFI product portfolio providing the maximum possible options and flexibility to SoC vendors that wish to integrate WIFI connectivity support. Heavily tested and pre-optimized in terms of power and performance for leading DSPs our WIFI offerings allow chip vendors to:
  • Accelerate Time to Market
  • Lower Developent Cost
  • Lower Risk

WIFI SDR on CEVA DSP

CEVA and Antcor have partnered to offer a fully programmable 802.11ac reference architecture. The Wi-Fi 802.11ac reference architecture addresses both the PHY and Lower-MAC layers in software with minimal hardware acceleration, to deliver outstanding performance without compromising on power consumption. The solution supports the full channel bandwidth up to 160MHz and offers maximal throughput of 867Mbps using a 4×2 MIMO beam-forming with 256-QAM modulation support, and can be scaled to support up to 1.7Gbps. The reference architecture supports a wide range of Wi-Fi standards, including 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, providing customers with ample headroom to add additional features and functionality on the same platform and further differentiate their product offering.

LTE

Antcor accelerates and simplifies the development process of vendors by providing a pre-certified modular library of LTE physical layer. LTE PHY is designed and implemented in both embedded matlab and ANSI C code, offering a clear path to a Software Defined Radio (SDR) implementation. Antcor enables equipment manufacturers to focus on areas and algorithms that will differentiate their offering, exploiting the head-start we are providing through LTE PHY. The software is written in a high level language and modular structure, making it easily modifiable or customizable; an important feature as the standards and market requirements for LTE continue to evolve. Designed with the concept of rapid upgradeability, our protocol R&D team constantly monitors the latest evolutions in the standard offering a future proof solution.
